I'm seriously considering dumping this blog and switching to wordpress or something different. It's stuff like this news story that really creeps me out about what's going on at the GIANT corporation of Google. I love referring to Google as the GIANT corporation of Google cause they are such a Liberal outfit. And what to liberals always bitch about? Evil giant corporations, of course! Except when the GIANT corporation is liberal then it's ignored. Toss in a Slogan like "don't be evil" or something like that and you can drown in the hypocrisy.

I really like blogger and the way it works but I'd rather pay for services on the web if it meant having more control over my privacy. I really want a HTC EVO 4G phone but Android is a Google OS so can I really trust it? I use youtube but I wish Google didn't own it. If a search engine were as efficient as Google or Bing and offer a pay service that would remove all tracking and advertising I would pay a reasonable amount for it's services.

Realistically Google has so many users that their data mining only becomes a problem for someone personally if the GIANT corporation turns its attention to you directly or if someone gets a hold of their data.

It's not like you can just stop using Google or being tracked by them. Even if you stop using Google search, Gmail or any of their other services it doesn't really matter. Google's analytic scripts are running on just about every site I visit. In order to shield yourself from Google you would need to be very computer savvy and willing to put in the effort.

On top of all this creepiness is Eric Schmidt who is more gaffetastic than Joe Biden, which is a hard thing to do. Schmidt shouldn't even be giving a toast at the dinner table let alone say anything in ear shot of a reporter. Just check out this latest news story where Eric Schmidt tells CNN that if you don't like Google's street view photographing your house you can move. No I didn't make that up, here is the story [ Schmidt: Don’t Like Google Street View Photographing Your House? Then Move. - Via All Things Digital ]. Seriously can you have a more WTF moment.

Now I have to be realistic in what strategy to use in dealing with the invasive feeling I get from Google. It's obvious to me that at this time Google doesn't care if you or anyone is antiGoogle. If they did, wouldn't they cancel and delete my blog here? Maybe they think the antiGoogle sentiments of some people are irrelevant to them right now and not a threat. As far as using an android device, I think that since the OS is open source and can be rooted any attempts by Google turn a mobile device into spyware would be discovered pretty quickly by the ever vigilant and some times paranoid hacker community.

In conclusion I just want to remind Schmidt of his own words and turn it around on him. If Google doesn't want to get into trouble with it's customers and government agencies around the world, just don't do anything wrong ( Like capturing emails and passwords ) and everything will be OK. :-)

Apple has altered it's developer licensing which appears to exclude Adobe's CS5 export to iPhone app packager. Lee Brimelow has posted a very interesting response to Apple's move on "The Flash Blog".

By now you have surely heard about the new iPhone 4.0 SDK language that appears to make creating applications in any non-Apple-approved languages a violation of terms. Obviously Adobe is looking into this wording carefully so I will not comment any further until there is an official conclusion.

[Sentence regarding Apple's intentions redacted at request from Adobe]. This has nothing to do whatsoever with bringing the Flash player to Apple’s devices. That is a separate discussion entirely. What they are saying is that they won’t allow applications onto their marketplace solely because of what language was originally used to create them. This is a frightening move that has no rational defense other than wanting tyrannical control over developers and more importantly, wanting to use developers as pawns in their crusade against Adobe.
